In 1969, Donald C. Westphal established a small land planning and landscape architecture firm out of his Rochester, MI, home. His passion for manufactured home community design soon became the flagship of his business, providing a level of service rarely seen in the industry. His firm soon grew into eight full-time employees, becoming one of the United States’ foremost authorities on manufactured home community design. Simultaneously, the firm also expanded its services to include single-family subdivisions, RV park design, high-end recreational facilities, commercial developments and resorts. In 2010, Emeka Nnadi envisioned a boutique consulting firm that tackled global environmental issues, countering with smart, scalable and relevant projects. He believed that incorporating innovative, resilient and sustainable techniques into clients’ projects would help reduce our carbon footprint and the long-term effects of climate change — one of the defining issue of our time.
