2023 AGM and MALA Night on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, to be held in-person at the Saddlery on Market (114 Market Ave).

There is no charge to attend the MALA AGM, the Keynote Address by Liz Wreford (Principal Landscape Architect, Urban Designer at Public City Architecture), and the MALA Night Celebration, however, please confirm your attendance at mala@mala.net.

Dinner tickets are $40 per Member/ Associate/ Professor, $20 per Friend of the Profession, $20 per Student and $50 per member of the public. Please pay via e-transfer to mala@mala.net or cheque made out to LASA (contact the student rep Smile Singh at sin115@myumanitoba.ca re cheque payment). The deadline to RSVP is April 20th..

MALA/LASA Movie Night: DƏNE YI`INJETL The Scattering of Man
Monday, March 6th, 2023
Unwilling participants in a wave of development that led to the creation of the largest hydroelectric project in the history of British Columbia, Canada, the Tsay Keh Dene people found themselves displaced from their land amidst the rising waters.

DƏNE YI`INJETL is told from the perspective of the Tsay Keh Dene Nation and its membership about the events that took place before and after the flood. Viewed by many critics as a Provincial vanity project, development of the dam was pushed forward and completed ahead of schedule, with little thought given to the resulting impacts that the natural environment and Tsay Keh Dene people would soon face.

Attendees will be entered into a draw to win prizes.
