Intern Landscape Designer 

Job Summary:

Lombard North Group is currently seeking an Intern Landscape Designer to support ongoing landscape design and project management work. The successful candidate will work closely with staff on landscape and development projects, taking them from conception through to completion. The work will require strong skills in design, graphic representation, project management, and oral and written communication.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with developing project designs from initial concept through to detailed design and construction drawings.
• Gather, analyze, interpret, and apply contextual information, data and regulations.
• Assist with the development of project budgets and prepare technical/AutoCAD drawings and specifications for tender documents.
• Liaise with stakeholders and management to ensure projects meet client expectations and business standards.
• Assist with contract administration duties, including field inspections and construction reviews, and all written records and communications.
• Assist with architectural design guidelines and site standards compliance reviews.
• Prepare project marketing materials and digital 3D design concepts.
• Administrative duties as required to support our projects.

Qualifications:

 The successful candidate for this position will have:

• A post-secondary degree from an accredited university in environmental design and/or a landscape architecture program.
• Membership in the MALA and CSLA, or the ability to obtain certification.
• 1-2 years full-time work experience. Recent graduates will be considered.

Skills:

• Strong design development skills.
• Strong analytical, research and organizational skills.
• Well-developed graphic, written, and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively with partners, staff, and other design professionals.
• Project management and contract administration experience is desirable.
• A thorough knowledge and proficiency in design tools including AutoCAD, Microsoft 365/Office, Adobe Suite, Illustrator. Knowledge of Sketch-up and Enscape and additional skills including graphic design, G.I.S. and I.T. are welcomed.
