It is with heavy hearts that the Manitoba Association of Landscape Architects acknowledge the passing of Mazina Giizhik- the Honourable Senator Murray Sinclair. A remarkable leader whose dedication to truth, reconciliation, and justice left an indelible mark on our nation. As landscape architects, we are inspired by his profound commitment to honoring Indigenous perspectives, rights, and stewardship of the land. Senator Sinclair’s leadership on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission opened doors for more inclusive, respectful design practices that celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Indigenous communities.
As the recipient of an honorary membership to the @csla_aapc ,we honor his legacy and continue to commit ourselves to shaping spaces that reflect the truths he worked so hard to bring to light. Our thoughts are with his family, loved ones, and all who carry forward his vision. #MurraySinclair #TruthAndReconciliation #MALA #RestInPower
