Question: Why should I become a Friend of the Profession of Landscape Architecture with the Manitoba Association of Landscape Architects, and what is the process for applying?
The status Friend of the Profession of Landscape Architecture shall be granted where an applicant is a person interested in landscape architecture or the allied arts. The applicant shall be willing to support the further advancement of the profession of landscape architecture.
A Friend shall have the privilege of attending meetings and events of the Association and of participating therein, but shall have no vote and shall not be eligible to hold office or to hold membership on Council. The Friend shall further be entitled to receive all membership mailings of the Association, as well as a free copy of an updated membership mailing list on request at any time during the year.
A Friend shall also have the privilege of appearing free of charge on MALAís website by submitting a 250 word article (a brief description of the Friendís firm and its products) plus an accompanying graphic. In addition, MALA will provide a free link to the Friendís website, if applicable.
Upon completion of the Application for Admission [as Friend of the Profession of Landscape Architecture], please return it to the MALA office, together with the first annual contribution. You may include the 250 word article plus accompanying graphic for the MALA website.
After this material has been reviewed by the Examining Board and MALA Council, the candidate will be notified with a formal decision.
